Rose Water Toner Recipe

Rose water is a hydrosol. It is a distillate. It is neither essential oil, nor a floral water

Hydrosol is a distillate after the essential oils and other basic components have been dissolved in the water, distillation process is started to collect Rose Water. Hydrosols are clear. The aroma is subtle not strong as the essential oil itself. Hydrosols are not Floral water. Floral water is made by adding water and the essential oil.

We are going to neither use a still nor emulate a still. Instead, I will use a stainless steel pressure cooker.

Ingredients

1. Rose petals (Picked from fresh flowers): 2 cups packed

2. Distilled water: 1¾ cups

3. Glycerin: ¼ teaspoon (Optional, recommended for dry skin)

Method

1. Put water and petals in the pressure cooker. Put a 15 pound weight.

2. Turn on heat. Let the steam build up, till the weight goes off. As soon as the steam is about to be released, turn off the heat. You do not want to let the steam escape and lose the aroma.

3 Make sure the weight is in position. Wait 20 minutes. Remove the weight. Open the lid.

4. Strain in to Glass jar. Add Glycerin. Tightly close the lid. Store in the refrigerator.

Its not going be clear as a hydrosol. The color will be based on the color of roses.
