Women with PCOS

Insulin Resistance seems to be a common problem with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Diabetics and Obesity

About 6 to 10% of women in their child bearing age suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Eighty percent of these women are obese. The major problem seems to be insulin resistance. Weight loss can improve insulin resistance. Some women with PCOS may also have a sensitivity to yeast, and certain chemicals.
Chemical Sensitivity
1. Always sanitize your fruits and vegetables to minimize sensitivity to pesticides and chemicals.
2. Avoid eating processed foods to minimize sensitivity to preservatives and chemicals.
3. Choose cooking utensils to avoid chemical interaction. Use glassware to microwave foods. Minimize use of non-stick cookware.
4. If you are sensitive to yeast, don't eat baked breads, or Naan.

Women with PCOS should follow the same diet as diabetics.
