Choosing Sugars for weight loss

Table sugar is one of the sources of calories that has minimum amount of nutrition. Therefore, we will use artificial sweeteners. There are three major artificial sweeteners available: Sweet 'N Low (Saccharin), Equal (Aspartame), and Splenda. Sugar alternatives such as Fructose, Sorbitol and Xylitol have higher calories than the artificial sweeteners.

Sugar substitutes may have almost no calories, but may increase appetite to consume more calories. The only exception seems to be Splenda. Granular Splenda can be used same as the Granular Table sugar in volume as well as in cooking.
