This is the major social event where all the family members, co-workers, and friends are invited. The reception follows the wedding. It can be on the same day, or after a few weeks. Normally, the Bride's parents host the wedding reception. If you were married in India, and the bride has no parents in United States, the co-workers may get together and host a simple wedding reception for you.
Brunch
The brunch is primarily held for out of town guests, the day after the wedding reception. Normally, the brunch is held at the house of either of the parents, or a friend who has a large enough place.
