Balti Powder Spice Mix Blend Recipe

Normally, whole spices are dry roasted and then ground. I will use standard spice powder and roast with the meat

 

Balti cooking became popular during 1970s in England, every restaurant has developed their own mix of spices and offering their version in United States. It is a version of Kashmir cooking.

 

Ingredients

1. Coriander powder: 2 Tablespoons
2. Cumin Powder: 2 Tablespoons
3. Clove powder: ¼ teaspoon
4. Cinnamon powder: 1 teaspoon
5. Cardamom powder: ½ teaspoon
6. Ajwain (Thyme): ½ teaspoon
7. Fennel seed powder: 1 teaspoon
8. Hot mustard seed powder: 2 teaspoon
9. Fenugreek seed powder: ½ teaspoon
10. Dried Fenugreek leaf (Kasoori Patta): 1 teaspoon
11. Dried curry leaf: ½ Tablespoons
12. Black onion seeds: ½ teaspoon

 

Method

Mix and sift all the powders well.
