Panch Phoron Spice Mix Recipe

Spice mix used in Bengal. Whole spices (Cumin Fennel Fenugreek Mustards Nigella) are added in equal volumes

 

Ingredients

1. Cumin seeds: 1 teaspoon

2. Fennel seeds: 1 teaspoon

3. Fenugreek seeds: 1 teaspoon

4. Brown Mustard seeds: 1 teaspoon

5. Nigella seeds: 1 teaspoon

Method

Option 1

Heat Ghee/oil. Add mix fry about 1 minute before using for tempering

Option 2

Grind spices together pounding with Mortar and Pestle and use as needed
