- Kerwa Essence or Kewra water. The botanical nomenclature of 'Kewra' plant is 'pandanus odoratissimus". In English it is known as umbrella tree or screw-pine Kewra oil (Attar) and Kewra water are obtained by distillation of the white spates covering the flowers of the male plant The plant leaves are also used in cooking for the flavor. The Kewra flower is banned during worship by Lord Shiva for appearing as a false witness to Lord Brahma who lied during dispute with Lord Vishnu. Lord Shiva also punished Lord Brahma for his lie by banning him from being worshipped.
- Khas or Khus. The botanical nomenclature of Khas is 'Chrysopogon zizanioides' In English, it is known as 'Vetiver'. The Essence and Khas water are obtained by distillation of the roots of 'Vetiver' grass. Haiti is the largest producer of Vetiver in the world. Almost all quality perfumes (Lavania) contain vetiver for its fixative properties
