Fish Kebab (Cod Tikka) Oven baked Recipe

Made with skinless boneless Cod yogurt curry spices

You can make Fish Tikka with almost any fish. Most suitable fish for this recipe are cod, scrod, halibut, and swordfish. You can grill the kebab on charcoal, or bake in a Tandoor. Here we will use oven.

 

Ingredients

1. Skinless boneless cod: 1½ Pounds
The Cod should be cut in about 2"x 2", and ½" thick pieces
2. Whole-milk Yogurt: 1 Cup
3. Cumin powder: ½ Tablespoon
4. Ground Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
5. Cayenne powder: ½  Tablespoon
6. Ground Black Pepper: ½  Tablespoon
7. Salt: 1 Tablespoon
8. Degi Mirch or Paprika: ½  Tablespoon
9. Turmeric Powder: ½  teaspoon
10. Lime Juice: 1 Tablespoon
11. Fresh Ginger finely chopped: 1 Inch
12. Bamboo Skewers: 4 Large

 

Method

Step 1:  Mix ingredients 2 through 11. Add cod and put it in a refrigerator for 2 to 4  hours.
Step 2: Remove cod from refrigerator. Wait till it comes to room temperature.
Step 3: Remove cod from marinate. Thread cod on Skewers.
Step 4: Line a baking pan with Aluminum foil shiny side up. Put cod in the pan. Baste it generously with the marinate. Pre-heat oven to 450º F. Bake for about 10 minutes. Turn over the cod and baste again with the marinate. Bake another 10 minutes or till done.
