Original content was known as Yogi's Recipes and Cooking and dates back to 1999. It has been re-organized in 14 subjects: Appetizers, Beverages, Breads, Chicken, Chutney, Dairy, Desserts, Lamb, Nuts, Rice, Seafood, Soups, Spices, and Vegetables

 

Meats

The most common meats used in India are: Water-buffalo, Goat, sheep, Chicken, and Fish. The female buffalo is used for milk. The male buffalo over six months is used for meat. For religious reasons, Muslims shun Pork, and Hindus shun beef.

The buffalo and goat are not readily available in United States, so the recipes have been modified to use lamb.

Majority of India is lacto vegetarian. The flat breads (Roti), Dried beans (Dal), Rice (Chawal), and vegetable Curries (Subzi) are part of daily diet for Vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians.
