How to hull Pumpkin seeds? Pepitas

Hulled pumpkin seeds are called Pepitas. You can crack one seed at a time and remove the shell. Its time consuming

To hull seeds in quantity, you need a rolling pin, hammer or a heavy wooden Mallet. Smash the seeds with the wooden Mallet shattering the shell. Transfer the seeds with broken shell in to a large pot of water. Stir the seeds in the water vigorously. The kernels will sink down to the bottom of the pot. The empty shells will float on the top. Use a skimmer to remove the empty shells and discard. Transfer the contents into to a colander to drain out water. You would have Pepitas (kernel of the pumpkin seeds) in the colander.
