Nutritional Value of whole grains

Indian flat bread Roti is made with whole grain flour primarily wheat corn and millet

The natural grain has three parts: bran, endosperm, and the germ. The bran is rich with B vitamins, the germ has vitamin E & oils, the endosperm is primarily starch with limited protein and nutrients. The 2005 USDA guideline recommends at least 50% of grains used should be whole grains. Whole grains help reduce weight, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, diabetes and cancer. I have selected ¼ cup as a standard. This would make one Roti.
