Shami Kebab Shami-Tikki, Shami-Tikiya Recipe

Ground lamb is mixed with pre-cooked legume and curry spices formed as a hamburger patty and pan-fried

Shami Kebab was created by a Nawab in Palanpur (Rajasthan). It is made with ground lamb. It is formed as a patty and pan fried. This dish is called either Shami Kebab or Shami Tikki/Tikiya depending on the region of India. This is like a spiced up Hamburger patty made with meatloaf type preparation. In India, partially cooked Desi Chana Dal (Split Chickpeas), or Mattar Dal (Split dried green peas) are added for extra texture.

For efficiency, I will use canned Chickpeas or Garbanzo beans. You can use this recipe with mutton or beef as well.
