Making A Cocktail

The cocktails are served chilled. They may be served on ice (also known as "on rocks" or "neat"), mixed and stirred, mixed and shaken, or frozen in a blender. All these processes allow the cocktail to be chilled fast.
Stirring a cocktails involves moving the ice-cubes around the fluid, to chill it fast.  Shaking a cocktail chills it and introduces air-bubbles making it frothy and cloudy, good examples are Whiskey sour and Tom Collins. Blending involves breaking the ice-cubes in small chunks surrounded by fluids giving it a frozen look, good examples are daiquiris.
Sorry Mr. Bond! James Bond!! Martini is a clear cocktail. It is stirred, and NOT shaken. If shaken, it will be cloudy.

Step 1: Chose the appropriate glassware for the cocktail

Step 2: Fill with Ice cubes to the level of final cocktail volume.

Step 3: Measure primary spirits and add the spirits. This is the most important step. Always measure, to ensure consistency with each cocktail. Always pour your primary spirits first over the ice. This does two things, first it softens the ice cubes and secondly the density of alcohol is less than other ingredients, allowing the other ingredients to chill quicker and mix easier.
If you are making a Neat or On The Rocks cocktail, just stir it moving the ice cubes around once and you are done.

Step 4: If you are making the Shaken cocktail, in Step 1, you chose the Glass tumbler. Measure and add other ingredients. Shake. Strain if required. Pour in the final glassware and you are done.
If you are making a frozen drink, in Step 1, you chose the container from the blender. Measure and add other ingredients. Blend. Pour in the final glassware and you are done.

Step 5: Don't forget to add garnish before serving.
