Stocking Spirits

This can be expensive considering all different types of spirits, the quality and different tastes. The picture starts to clear-up as we focus on the guests. People of Indian origin in my age group like Scotch;  while, Americans don't quite care for it. Vodka is the top selling spirit in United States. You have to also balance it by choosing brands that are not "cheap", and not waste money  on expensive reserve stock that may remain un-opened. My start-up selection will satisfy most of the American and Indian guests at the party. After every party, you will find out what your friends like, and you will  know exactly what to add and keep in stock for your next party.
Indian home bar or an Indian Restaurant bar must carry at least "Old Monk" rum to show it off to their American friends. Old Monk is a 7 year aged blended dark rum. There is also a 12 year aged "Old Monk Gold Reserve".
India also produces its own equivalent of Scotch. The best known product is "Solan No. 1". It is comparable to any blended scotches from Scotland. Other good blended whiskeys are "Colonel's Special" and "Black Knight"
