Tofu and Green Peas Curry in Hurry RecipeThis recipe is based on popular Matar Paneer Curry.
Ingredients1. Frozen peas: ½ cup thawed 2. Firm Tofu: 8oz 3. Canola oil: 2 teaspoons 4. Fresh ginger: ½" peeled and finely chopped 5. Serrano: 1, washed chopped 6. Tomato: ½ cup, washed chopped 7. Hurry Curry Powder : 1½ teaspoon 8. Salt: ¼ teaspoon or to taste 9. Cilantro: 1 Tablespoon, washed stem discarded, leafs chopped
Method1. You need to remove most of the moisture from the Tofu. Put folded paper towel, Tofu and layer of folded paper on top. Now put a plate and press it down squeezing out most of the water. You can repeat it once again 2. Cut tofu in ½" cubes. 3. Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan. Add Tofu cubes and fry them till all the sides are slightly brown. This may take about five minutes. 4. Add ginger and Serrano. Sauté about one minute 5. Add Curry powder. sauté about 30 seconds 6. Add chopped tomatoes and salt. Sauté about 5 minutes till tomatoes are tender. 7. Add thawed peas and chopped Cilantro. Sauté about 2 minutes. |
