Raita - BlueberriesTraditionally, this is a seasonal sweet dish made with Jamun and Phalsa during April May time frame. These tropical fruits are not readily available in United States. If you have access to Jamun and Phalsa, wash, remove pits, and cut them in half. I will use blueberries here. Oh yes! the Blueberries will also render some of the purple color just like Jamun and Phalsa. In the traditional recipe, the Dahi yogurt is hung in the muslin cloth for about two hours to remove some whey. To save time, I have added sour cream to get the same consistency.
Ingredients1. Dahi Natural Yogurt: ¾ Cup 2. Sour cream: ¼ Cup 3. Honey or Corn Syrup: 2 Tablespoons 4. Blueberries: ½ Cup
MethodStep 1Mix Dahi, Sour cream and Honey together and beat with a fork to form a paste Step 2Wash and cut blueberries in halves. Step 3Stir blueberries in the yogurt mixture. Store in refrigerator. |
