Sarson Saag (Mustard Greens) Curry in HurryTo save time, we use canned Mustard Greens. Its not a mistake. This recipe uses very few spices. Fresh ginger is the key to happiness in this recipe.
Ingredients1. Mustard Green Cans (15 oz each): 2 2. Fresh ginger: ½" finely chopped 3. Garlic: 2 Cloves minced 4. Canola Oil: ¼ Cup 5. Salt: ¼ teaspoon or to taste 6. Red Crushed Peppers: ½ teaspoon or to taste 7. Amchoor: ¼ teaspoon 8. Corn meal: 2 Tablespoons
MethodStep 1 PreparationMustard Green 1. Drain and save the juices. We will use these juices to help in blending the greens. 2. Blend the Mustard Greens in an electric blender with very little Juice. Ginger: Peel and chop Garlic: Peel and mince Step 2: Sauté / Cook1. In a heavy pan heat Canola oil, and heat oil. 3. Add Garlic, Ginger, salt, pepper, and Amchoor. Stir and sauté about two minutes. 4. Sprinkle corn meal on top. Stir. Continue till all the corn meal has been added. Step 3: Simmer / RestAdd juices left over from the preparation in step 1. Simmer covered about 2 minutes. |
