Masoor Dal (Lentils Soup) in Hurry

Masoor Dal is a common item served with plain rice in Punjab area. The preparation in Punjab differs from other regions by adding a bit of Sugar and Amchoor, making it ever so slight sweet and sour..

Ingredients

1. Lentil soup cans: 2

2. Serrano: 1

3. Fresh Ginger: 1"

4. Canola Oil: 1 Tablespoon

5. Hurry Curry Powder : 1 teaspoon

6. Salt: to taste

7. Sugar: ¼ teaspoon
8. Water: ½ Cup

9. Amchoor: ½ teaspoon

 

Method

Step 1: Food Prep

Lentil soup: Do not drain.

Serrano: Wash and chop. Remove seeds and white membrane to reduce heat if desired.

Ginger: Peel and chop

Step 2: Cook

Add all items to a heavy bottom pan. Bring to a boil. Cover pan. Simmer for 10 minutes. Adjust spices.
