Chicken Shami Kebab 30 minute recipe

Made with ground chicken readily available in US stores

Shami kebab is normally made with ground mutton. Most of the Indians don't eat beef. So, I have developed this recipe using ground chicken

 

Ingredients

1. Ground Chicken: 1 Pounds
2. Eggs Lightly beaten: 1
3. Thinly Chopped Onions: ½ cup
4. Finely chopped Ginger: ½ Inch
5. Minced Garlic: 1 Tablespoon
6. Canned Chick peas drained: ½ Can

7. Hurry Curry powder : 1½ teaspoon

8. Black Pepper Ground: ¼ teaspoon or to taste
9. Salt: ¼ teaspoon or to taste

10. Bread Crumbs: ½ Cup

11. Canola oil: ¼ Cup for frying

 

Method

Step 1:  Mash Chickpeas with a fork. Mix all ingredients together. Knead them like dough.
Step 2:  Gather the mixture into a ball. Cut it into 5 or 6 portions. Roll each portion into a ball. Press each ball to make about ¼" thick patty. Coat each patty with bread crumbs.

Step 3: On a heavy griddle, pour about 1 teaspoon of oil. Heat it to medium. Fry each patty about 3 minutes each side.
