Balushahi in HurryTraditional Balushahi is made using Maida, and sugar syrup. To save time, we will use 'Biscuit Dough'. Make sure the dough is regular variety and not with buttermilk. Further to save time, we will use readily available Corn Syrup.
IngredientBalushahi1. Biscuit Dough: 1 Roll 2. Canola Oil: 1 Cup Syrup3. Corn Syrup: 1 Cups 4. Water : ¼ Cup 5. Cardamom powder: ½ teaspoon Garnish6. Crushed Pistachio nuts: ¼ Cup
MethodStep 1: Syrup1. Stir cardamom powder in the water. Bring it to a boil 2. Stir in Corn Syrup. Heat to about 180° F. Step 2: Balushahi1. Heat Canola oil in a pan to near 325ºF 2. Cut dough into a ¼ to ½" thick disc. Depress the center slightly. 3. Fry the disc till golden brown. 4. Use tongs to remove the disc from the oil. 5. Dunk the disc in the syrup and remove them. 6. Sprinkle crushed pistachios over the Balushahi. |
