Chicken Shorwa Soup Fusion Recipe

This recipe is based on Punjabi recipe called Murgh Shorwa

 

Ingredients

1. Butter: ½ cup
2. All purpose flour: ½ cup
3. Minced Garlic: 1 teaspoon
4. Finely chopped Ginger: 1 Inch
5. Chicken broth: 2 Quarts
6. Cooked Chicken breast cubed: 1 cup
7. Ground Cinnamon: ½ teaspoon
8. Ground Cardamom: ½ teaspoon
9. Ground Cumin powder: ½ teaspoon
10. Ground Coriander: ½ teaspoon
11. Turmeric Powder: ½ teaspoon
12. Paprika: ½ teaspoon
13. Cayenne pepper: ½ teaspoon
14. Sugar: 1 teaspoon
15. Salt: 1 teaspoon
16. Heavy whipping cream: ¼ cup

 

Method

Step 1: In a large stock pot, heat butter. Add flour. Sautee till slightly brown.
Step 2: Add Garlic, ginger. Sautee one minute. Add broth and chicken breast. Bring to a boil. Lower heat to simmer.
Step 3: Add remaining ingredients. Stir and simmer 10 minute. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro.
