Curried Marinara Sauce Fusion Recipe
Ingredients
1. Olive Oil: 4 Tablespoons
2. Finely Chopped Onion: 1½ Cup
3. Minced Garlic: 2 Tablespoon
4. Finely chopped fresh ginger root: ½"
5. Fresh Serrano peppers (Hari Mirch): 2
Cut peppers length wise into half. Remove and discard the seeds and the white membrane.
6. Turmeric powder: ¼ teaspoon
7. Cumin powder: ½ teaspoon
8. Coriander powder: ½ teaspoon
9. Fenugreek seed powder: ¼ teaspoon
10. Puréed tomatoes: 4 cups
11. Bay leaf: 2
12. Oregano dried leaves: ½ Tablespoon
13. Sweet Basil dried leaves: ½ Tablespoon
14. Ground Cinnamon: ¼ teaspoon
15. Ground Cloves: ¼ teaspoon
16. Fresh Cilantro: ¼ cup
17. Sugar: 1 Tablespoon
18. Salt: Pinch to taste
19. Parmesan cheese: ¼ cup
Method
Step 1: Heat a heavy bottom pan with olive oil.
Step 2: Add onions and sauté till most they turn translucent and the edges start to turn brown.
most of the moisture is gone. It should turn into muddy greenish paste. Don't brown.
Step 3: Add garlic, ginger, and Serrano peppers. Sauté two minutes.
Step 4: Add spices 6 through 9. Sauté one minute
Step 5: Add ingredients 10 through 15. Bring to a boil on high heat. Simmer 15 minutes on medium to low heat.
Step 6: Turn off heat and stir in ingredients 16 through 19.
