What is a smoothie?

Smoothie is an American invention of 1990s. The smoothie was created at health spas and juice bars.

There are two types of smoothies: Vegetable Smoothie, and Fruit Smoothie.

The fruit smoothies contain fruit and or fruit juice, and yogurt or Soy milk. This cold beverage packed with vitamins, fiber, and Phytochemicals (from fruits);  and protein (from yogurt or Soy milk). The Lassi with fruit is Indian smoothie.

The vegetables smoothies are just raw vegetables, and vegetable juices. The vegetable smoothies are packed with vitamins, fiber, and  Phytochemicals.

The difference between smoothie and milkshake is simply presence or absence of dairy milk or ice cream.
