What is Batasa Biscuit? Surti-Batasa Butter-BiscuitBatasa Biscuit is Indian version of 'Dutch Butter Biscuit'. Butter Biscuit was introduced by Dutch during their occupation of India. After Dutch left India, the recipe was modified at Dotivala Bakery in Surat and named it 'Surti Batasa' Nowadays its referred to as Batasa Biscuit or just Butter Biscuit. Batasa should not be confused with Batasha. Batasha is a hollow semi-spherical sugar drop. In the olden days butter was not used, instead it was Ghee. The basic changes made are as follows
