How to freeze Dahi yogurt Starter culture? |
||
| If you have made a good batch of Dahi, you can freeze part of this Dahi yogurt as a starter culture for your next batch when needed. Whisk Dahi yogurt with a fork. Pour whisked Dahi yogurt in ice cube trays and freeze for 48 hours. Remove the Dahi yogurt cubes and transfer them in to freezer zip lock bags. Squeeze out air as much as possible. Close the bag and store in the freezer. This will be good for three months.. You will need 4 Dahi cubes to make one quart of Dahi yogurt. Don't put frozen cubes to ferment milk. Don't thaw in microwave oven, or on stove top. Thaw Dahi yogurt cubes at room temperature. |
