How to Freeze Cooked Foods?Most of the Indian foods can be frozen and kept for about 90 days. Frozen foods should be defrosted in the refrigerator. |

| 1. Make sure your freezer temperature is below 0º F 2. Make sure the foods to be frozen should be at or below room temperature. 3. Choose freezer bags. Storage bags, and sandwich bags are not same as freezer bags Freezer bags are thicker than the storage or sandwich bags. 4. Freeze amounts in smaller quantities. After filling the bag, form them like thin slabs before freezing. It will be easier to freeze and quicker to thaw. 5. Freezer-burns are caused by dehydration. The major cause is the air. Let as much air out as possible before sealing the bag and eventually freezing it. 6. Roti, Naan, Rice, Dal, Rasedaar (Soupy) curries freeze well. Dry curries may loose the texture. Boiled potatoes when frozen without any liquid, may turn into mush when defrosted. 7. Dahi yogurt does not freeze well. However, whipped Dahi yogurt may be frozen in limited quantities for your next starter culture. 8. Cooked eggs, Whipping cream, and Mayonnaise do not freeze well. |
