How to use Coriander in Indian cooking?

Coriander seeds powdered-seeds and fresh leaves are used in Indian cooking

Fresh coriander leaves are also known as Cilantro, Chinese parsley or Dhania (east Indian name well adopted in England). We will just refer to it as Cilantro. Cilantro can be used to garnish any sauce cooked with tomatoes; for example, Marinara sauce, curry sauce & tomato bisque. In Mexico, you cannot make salsa without chopped up Cilantro.

Coriander seeds can be roasted and ground to flavor fish.

Coriander powder acts as a natural emulsifier or thickener. Almost all Indian curry dishes use coriander powder. In United states, I don't think there is any hotdog that does not have coriander as one of the ingredients. Try ground coriander in your next chili when cooking and top it off with fresh chopped cilantro when serving.
