How to bake Naan at home?Normally Naan is baked in Tandoor. We will use electric or gas range normally available in US homes I will give three different methods depending appliance capability.
Method 1 Pizza StonesSee What is a Tandoor and how it works? Emulation Kitchenware neededOne Pizza Stone One 12" pizza baking Aluminum pan One 8" cast iron griddle
Method1. Put Pizza Stone on the lower shelf of the oven 2. Turn oven on to maximum dial. Probably, it is 475º F. 3. Pre heat oven. It will probably take about 40 minutes for the pizza stone to get hot. 4. Roll out Naan. Brush the top with Ghee. Put it on a greased Aluminum pan. Put the Aluminum pan on top of the hot Pizza Stone. It will take about 6 minutes to bake a Naan.
Method 2 Oven and BroilerKitchenware neededOven with a broiler One baking sheet.
Method1. Pre heat oven to 400º F. 2. Roll out Naan. Brush the top with Ghee. Put it on a greased baking sheet. Put the baking sheet in the oven. Bake 5 minutes. 3. Bake under broiler for 3 minutes.
Method 3 Oven Only1. Pre heat oven to 450º F. 2. Roll out Naan. Brush the top with Ghee. Put it on a greased baking sheet. Put the baking sheet in the oven. Bake 6 to 8 minutes. |
