Does baked-potato have more calories than raw-potato?Baked-potato has more calories per gram than boiled-potato. Boiled potato has more calories per gram than the raw-potato
This is a little tricky question. When we take a raw potato, and either boil or bake it, the number of calories does not change, but the weight changes. Therefore, the calories per gram changes as the moisture level changes.
Calories for 100 grams of potato are as follows Raw Potato (100 gram) = 77 Calories, water = 79.34 grams Boiled Potato (100 gram) = 87 Calories, water = 76.98 grams Baked Potato (100 gram) = 93 calories, water = 74.89 gram
Cooking the potato loses moisture. Baking loses the most moisture, boiling loses less moisture than baking |
