What is Juice Fasting?

Juice Fasting is a form of detoxification. You do not consume any solid foods

The fasting is a long Vedic Hindu, and Buddhist tradition. In Chinese medicine fasting is practiced as preventive medicine. In India, fasting is basically, 'water only'. In United States, 'Juice Fasting' is recommended by naturopathic physicians.

Fasting is not advised for pregnant or nursing mothers, or children, or people with: low blood pressure, diabetes, kidney disorder, liver disease.

Juice fasting is normally done 1-day a week. One day fasting actually lasts 36 hours from 8pm of day before, the day, and 8 am of next day.

The fast involves drinking juice every 90 minutes to 2 hours. The juice is made of fresh raw fruits, or a blend of green salad vegetables. All fruits and vegetables must be fresh, raw, and preferably organically grown. The juices are diluted with 50% water. The diluted juices are more easily absorbed than either whole, or just pulverized fruits and vegetables.

The juices provide needed calories, vitamins, minerals antioxidants to function and create new cells.

The raw fruits and vegetables are good source of digestive enzymes. Vitamin C helps the body to produce Glutathione, a liver compound that helps to expel toxins. In the morning, one cup of boiled water with a juice from fresh 1/2 lemon and honey as a sweeteners is used to start the day.

Colon Cleansing

Many Naturopathic physicians suggest cleansing colon during Juice Fasting beyond the use of juices. Some suggest using filtered water enema. Others suggest using Herbs (cascara sagrada, psyllium, senna leaves and Licorice Root) as laxative. I do not recommend  enema.

A solution of 2 teaspoons sea salt dissolved in one quart of warm boiled water may be drank in the morning to flush the entire intestinal tract.

Liver Cleansing

Liver cleansing may be made a part of Juice fasting. You may use herbs such as dandelion root, burdock and milk thistle. White tea and Green tea are also good.

Candida Cleanser

Candida cleanser basically contains Lemon grass, Pot Marigold, Pau d'arco bark
