What is Espresso? |
||
| The word Espresso has Latin origin meaning 'Under Pressure'
In 1901, Luigi Bezzaera, developed a brewing method consisting of a set of four filter with ground coffee beans where boiling water and steam were applied under pressure to extract the best flavor coffee. Since then, the mechanism has improved where the hot water at an optimum temperature (200º F) is applied under pressure to dark roasted fine grounds to extract coffee. This is called Espresso. The high pressure creates a thick foam, called 'Crema'. |
