What varieties of coffee beans are grown in India? |
||
| There are two main varieties of coffee beans grown in India: Arabica (native of Ethiopia), and Robusta (native of Belgium and Congo). Arabica beans are grown at high altitude and take up to five years to mature. These beans are used to produce high quality 'ground coffees'. The Robusta beans can be grown at lower altitude and mature between 2 to 3 years. They lack the aroma of Arabica beans and are primarily used to produce 'instant coffee'. | ||
