How to remove tea (Chai) stains?

Tea brewing, service, and spills cause stains. Stains are removed with ammonia, vinegar and laundry detergent.

 

Tea maker Glass Carafe, Tea cups

The stains can best be removed with White vinegar

1. Prepare a solution of One Tablespoon of Vinegar and Two cups of water.

2. Fill the stained ware with vinegar solution. Let it stand for about 30 minutes

3. Rinse and wash

 

Garments

1. Pre-treat stains with water and ammonia for about 30 minutes. You can also use a spot remover or lemon juice

2.  Rinse. Launder with regular detergent

 

Carpets

1. Prepare detergent/ammonia solution

- Liquid dishwashing detergent: 1 teaspoon

- Ammonia: 1 Tablespoon

- Cool Tap water: 2 Cups

2. Use clean white cloth to sponge the stain with detergent/ammonia solution. Leave it on for 30 or more minutes, blotting every five minutes with more detergent/vinegar solution

3. Sponge with cool tap water. Blot till all the liquids are absorbed and removed
