How to remove stains from stainless steel?Alkali cleaners such as baking soda or Ammonia are effective to clean stainless steel surface Stainless steel is reactive Chlorides and acids. This can cause pitting and corrosion. Also stainless steel in itself is a poor conductor of heat. If you are boiling water, and the water dissipated, the continued heating will result in discoloration of steel. Use Alkali cleaners such as Baking Soda, or Ammonia. The stainless steel cookware or flatware may be washed by hand in mild soap or in dishwasher. Flatware should not be dried in the dishwasher to prevent water spots. The flatware should be dried with soft towel while it is still warm for best shine Occasionally, use stainless steel polish to remove stains and restore the shine. Prolonged exposure of stainless steel to chlorides can cause pitting. Don't soak stainless steel utensils over night in water, or use rinse hold cycle in the dishwasher. |
