Roh Kheer (Rice in Sugarcane juice) Recipe

This is exclusively made in Punjabi recipe. The rice is cooked in fresh sugarcane juice (Ganee Ras)

 

Ingredients

1. Sugarcane juice: 4 cups

2. Basmati rice: ½ cup

 

Method

1. Bring sugarcane juice to a boil in a heavy bottom pot.

2. Wash and add Basmati rice to the boiling sugarcane juice

3. Turn down heat to a simmer. Cook on low heat till you have reached a smooth consistency. It will take about 1½ hour

4. Turn off heat. Let it cool to room temperature.

5. Refrigerate and serve cold.
