Lapsi RecipeThe traditional Halwa from Rajasthan is made with Cracked Wheat, Ghee, and Jaggery I have substituted Jaggery with brown sugar. If you wish, you may nuts, and flavoring spices.
Ingredients1. Cracked Wheat: 1 Cup 2. Ghee: 1 Cup 3. Water: 3 cups 4. Brown sugar: ¾ Cup
Method1. Add water and sugar in a pan. Bring it to a boil till sugar is dissolved. 2. Heat Ghee in a heavy bottom pan. 3. Add cracked wheat, Sauté, till wheat is golden brown. 4. Add sugar water from step 1. Bring it to a boil. Cover cook on low till almost all the moisture is gone and the cracked wheat is tender. Add more water if needed. 5. Continue sautéing till the Ghee starts to separate. |
