Atta Halwa Old fashioned (Akbar period) RecipeThis is a recreation of old recipe used in the royal kitchen of Akbar. I had to add water to complete the recipe Original recipe Halwa Recipe (Ain-I-Akbar) Ingredients1. Ghee: 1 pounds or 2¼ cups 2. Flour: 1 ponds or 3½ cups 3. Sugar: 1 pounds 2½ cups 4. Water: 10 cups
Method1. In one pot add sugar and water, bring to a boil till sugar is dissolved. Set aside. 2. Heat Ghee in a heavy bottom pan. 3. Add flour, Sauté, till flour is golden brown. 3. Add sugar water from step 1. Bring it to a boil. Turn down heat. Cook on low till all the moisture is gone. 4. Continue cooking till Ghee starts to separate. |
