Almond Burfee Barfi, Burfi RecipeAlmond Burfee is made of blanched almonds sugar ghee and cardamom
Ingredients1. Blanched sliced almonds: 1 cup 2. Whole milk: 2 Tablespoons 3. Sugar: 1½ cup 4. Ghee: ¼ cup 5. Water: ½ Cups 6. Cardamom powder :¼ teaspoon
Method1. Process almonds in a food processor. Grind them to a fine powder. 2. Heat a pan. Add ground almonds and milk. Cook on low heat for 2 minutes. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes. This allows the internal of the almonds to be moistened for good texture. 3. In a separate pan mix water and sugar. Bring it to a boil. 4. Add Almond mix, and cardamom powder. Turn down heat. 5. Add 1 Tablespoon of ghee. Stir and cook. Repeat with 1 Tablespoon of Ghee at a time till all the ghee is incorporated. 6. Continue cooking till the mixture resembles thick Pakora batter. 7. Pour the mixture in a greased pan. When cold to room temperature, put it in the refrigerator. It will keep getting solid. In about 2 hours in the refrigerator, it will be set to cut. |
