Almond Bar Cookie Recipe

These are basic bar cookies, may be cut as bars squares or diamonds

 

Ingredients

Wet Mixture

1. Butter: 1 cup

2. Sugar: 1 cup

3. Large egg:1

4. Almond extract: 1 teaspoon

5. Kewra Essence: 6 drops

Dry Mix

1. All-purpose flour: 2 cups

2. Salt: 1/8 teaspoon

Add-ins

1. Chopped Almonds: ½ cup

 

Method

Step 1: Wet Mixture

1. Use Electric Mixer. Beat Butter for one minute

2. Gradually add sugar beating to light and fluffy, about 4 minutes

3. Add eggs, Almond extract, and Kewra essence. Beat about one minute to make smooth mixture

Step 2: Dry Mix

Combine salt and flour. Sift

Step 3: Dough

1. Combine dry mix with wet mixture.

2. Stir in Almonds

Step 4: Baking

1. Preheat oven to 350º F

2. Line a 15-1/2-inch by 10- 1/2-inch baking pan with parchment paper

3. Pat the dough in to pan

4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

5. Remove from oven and let cool 10 minutes.

6.Cut into bars squares or diamonds while still warm.
