Akhrot Sheera (Walnut Halwa) Recipe

The ingredients are walnuts sugar milk ghee and cardamoms. You may use either walnuts or pecans

 

Ingredients

1. Walnuts Shelled halves: 1¼ cup

2. Ghee: ¼ cup

3. Regular milk: 1 cup

4. Sugar: ½ cup

5. Cardamom seeds powder: ¼ teaspoon

 

Method

1. Process walnuts in a food processor to form a very coarse meal to the consistency of sugar granules

2. Heat Ghee in a heavy sauce pan. Add walnut meal. Sauté and roast till the walnuts start to turn brown

3. Add milk and continue sautéing till the milk is absorbed and Ghee starts to separate

4. Add sugar and cardamom seeds. Continue cooking till the sugar has melted. Continue frying till it is a soft lump
