Ayurvedic Weight-loss Daily Sample Menu

This sample menu is based on the principles of Ayurvedic Medicine for weight-loss

 

Wakeup

One cup of warm boiled water with juice of half lemon and one Tablespoon of honey

 

Breakfast

Sprouts (Examples: Moong beans, Wheat, Oats, Chickpeas), Sprouted Moong Beans are preferred

Skim milk

 

Mid morning Snack

Fresh fruit juice (Examples: orange, pineapple or carrot juice)

Carrot Juice is preferred

 

Lunch

- Salad of raw vegetables: beets cabbage carrots cucumber tomatoes with mint Chutney as a dressing  Ayurvedic Peppermint and Cilantro Chutney Recipe

- Steamed vegetables

- Lentil Soup (Moong Dal)

- Whole-grain wheat Roti (Bread)

- Ayurvedic Butter milk (Fat-free butter milk with cumin, cilantro ginger and salt)

Afternoon Snack

- Coconut water

- Dried fruits and Nuts (Preferred combination is walnuts and Figs)

- Lemon tea

- Raw Green Vegetable Soup and Rye crackers Raw Green Vegetable Soup Recipe

 

Dinner

- Whole-grain wheat Roti (Bread)

- Steamed vegetables

- Fresh fruit, except banana or apples
