Making Sour Cream Recipe

Fresh cream is fermented with live culture to make sour cream. The process is similar to making Dahi, taste is similar to Makhan

 

Recipe from regular  cream

It is similar to making Dahi (Yogurt).

Ingredients

1. Cream: 1 Quart
2. Culture starter yogurt: ¼ cup
If this is your first batch, use commercial natural plain yogurt. Make sure it has live culture.

 
Method

1. Heat Whipping Cream in a pan to 190° F.

2. Let cream cool to 110° F.

3. Add Culture. Store in warm place (Ambient temperature 105° F) for six hours. Store it in Refrigerator.

 

Recipe from Ultra-pasteurized cream

Ingredients

1. Heavy whipping cream Ultra-pasteurized: 1 Quart
2. Culture starter yogurt: ¼ cup
If this is your first batch, use commercial natural plain yogurt. Make sure it has live culture.

 
Method

Heat Whipping Cream in a pan to 110° F. Add Culture. Store in warm place (Ambient temperature 105° F) for six hours. Store it in Refrigerator.
