Nashpati Murabba (Pear sweet preserve) Easy RecipeEasy recipe to make make Murabba (sweet preserve) made of fresh pears in syrup
Ingredients1. Pears: 2 pounds Syrup1. Water: 2½ Cups 2. Sugar: 3 Pounds 3. Salt: 1/8 teaspoon (pinch) 4. Lime juice: 1 Tablespoon Juice of one fresh Lime 5. Green food color: 4 drops 6. Green Cardamom seeds cracked: 2 teaspoons Method1. Peel pears. Cut in quarters vertically. Cut out core and discard. Cut each quarter segment into thick slices. 2. Mix water, salt, lime juice, sugar and food color. Bring to a boil. Turn down heat. 3. Heat to 220º F or one thread consistency 4. Add pears. Simmer till pear slices are just tender and slightly translucent. 5. Add cardamom seeds. 6. Turn off heat Let it cool to room temperature 7. Transfer the contents to sterilized jars. Secure lid tight.
Store in cold dry place. Good for sixty days |
