Dhania (Cilantro) Coconut Chutney RecipeIngredients1. Cilantro: 1 Cup, Washed, Stems discarded 2. Coconut: ½ Cup, chunks of fresh coconut meat 3. Garlic: 10 Cloves, Peeled 4. Serrano: 3, Washed 5. Ginger: 1" Peeled 6. Onion: 1, Peeled, Cut up 7. Cumin seeds ground: 1 teaspoon 8. Brown sugar: 1 teaspoon 9. Lime juice: 1 teaspoon 10. Salt: ½ teaspoon 11. Vegetable oil: 1 Tablespoon (Option, see Note) 11. Water: 1 Tablespoon
MethodBlend all ingredients well in a blender to pulverize. Keep refrigerated.
NOTEIn traditional Indian cooking, no oil is used to make this type of chutney. I have found that adding oil gives it a very nice texture |
