Ingredients1. Apples: 2 pounds Syrup1. Water: 2½ Cups 2. Sugar: 3 Pounds 3. Salt: 1/8 teaspoon (pinch) 4. Lime juice: 1 Tablespoon Juice from one fresh Lime 5. Cinnamon stick: 2 (3"x¼" wide). Broken in halves Method1. Peel apples. Cut in quarters vertically. Cut out core and discard. Cut each quarter segment into thick slices. 2. Mix water, salt, lime juice, sugar and Cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil. 3. Heat to 220º F or one thread consistency.. 4. Add apples. Simmer till apple slices are just tender and slightly translucent. 5. Turn off heat. Let it cool to room temperature 6. Transfer the contents to sterilized jars. Secure lid tight.
Store in cold dry place. Good for sixty days |
