Spinach Peppers (10 months plus) Baby food RecipeThis is an excellent iron rich recipe for infants 10 months and up. The Spinach is high in iron, while high vitamin C makes the iron bioavailable. I have not added any salt in the recipe. I have added a tiny amount of red cayenne pepper powder for flavor. Ingredients1. Frozen Spinach (10oz): 1 2. Red Bell Pepper: 2 Sauté /Cook3. Ghee: 2 Tablespoon 4. Turmeric Powder: ¾ teaspoon 5. Ginger powder: ½ teaspoon 9. Red Cayenne powder: Pinch 10. Water: ¾ Cup MethodStep 1: Prepare vegetablesSpinach: Thaw and drain Bell Peppers: Wash. Discard the white membrane and seeds. Chopped fine. Step 2: Sauté / Cook1. Heat Ghee in a heavy bottom pan. 3. Add water, spinach and bell peppers. Cover. Cook covered on low heat for 25 minutes. 4. Transfer the contents to food processor. Process to form puree. |
