Introducing fruit baby foodsThe raw and cooked fruits may be phased in a timely fashion starting at the age of 4 months.
1. Raw FoodsFruits should be cooked before the age of 8 months. The exceptions are: Avocado, Banana, Papaya, Mango, and Kiwi. These fruits must be peeled and then mashed mashed with a fork. In United States, Avocado presents the best fruit for its high iron value. 2. Avoid listAvoid Citric foods to the age of 12 months, examples are Oranges, Grapefruits.
3. Fruit JuicesDo not give any fruit juices before the six months of age. If you want to give a fruit juice, it must have no sweeteners added, must be pasteurized. The juice must be diluted ( One part juice, 10 parts distilled water). Do not exceed more than 4 to 6oz of juice per day.
4. Canned Frozen FreshAvoid canned fruits, they may be loaded with sugar and preservatives. Frozen and fresh fruits may be used. 5. Timely PhasingFour to Six (4-6) Months oldRaw mashed: Bananas Peeled, Cored, Cooked in minimum water. mashed strained: Apples, Pears Applesauce Baby food (6 months Plus)
Six to Eight (6-8) Months oldRaw mashed: Avocados select dark green fully ripened, Mangoes, Papaya Peeled, Cored, Cooked in minimum water. mashed strained: Apricots, Nectarines, Peaches, Plums Guava should be peeled, seed part removed, cooked in minimum water, mashed. Make sure to remove all seeds. Eight to Ten (8-10) Months oldRaw mashed: Kiwi, Cantaloupe, Watermelon Cooked in boiling water till soft: Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries
12 MonthsStrawberries Soft pieces of raw fruits, peeled, seeded and chopped
