Yogurt has lactic acid and not lactose, making it more digestible. Yogurt should be made from whole milk. In United States, you can buy Kid yogurt (e.g., Blue Clue) which has no added sugar, and has Omega 3 fatty acids. Yogurt may be started at the age of 8 months
