Baby Foods: 8 to 10 months old
Time to introduce some of the dairy proteins (whole milk Yogurt, whole milk Cheese)
Now is the time to add some of the dairy proteins, switch vegetables over from mashed/strained to small cut pieces, decorticated (skinless) split soupy Dal without mashing, combination foods in heavy lumpy gravy.
Cheese
Examples: Small curd cottage cheese, Fresh Paneer cut as small pieces. Cheese should be given in moderation only. Cheese can cause constipation.
Yogurt
Natural un-flavored yogurt or homemade Dahi. The yogurt is easily digestible than the milk. Therefore, yogurt is introduced prior to introducing whole milk. You may also hang yogurt and make yogurt cheese.
Vegetables/Fruits
Vegetables cooked in little plain water to soft, cut into small cubes or sliced. Examples are diced carrots, ½" long green beans.
Dried beans
Decorticated split beans cooked in plain water till soft (skinless split Moong or Toor)
Meats
Thinly sliced beef. Tender skinless bone less chicken thigh meat, crumbled meatball (Kofta) or meatloaf, water packed Tuna.
Combination foods
Macaroni and cheese, Brown Rice and Beans (lumpy Khichri), Idli cut into small pieces soaked in plain Toor Dal
