Time to introduce high proteins (Non Dairy)After the baby has become used to the vegetables and fruits, it is time to add foods high in proteins such as strained meats, tofu, dried beans, egg yolks. Start with one teaspoon at a time increasing to 1 Tablespoon.
Egg yolk makes the ideal first meat protein for the infant. Bring water to a boil, introduce the egg to the boiling water. Turn off the heat. Wait 20 minutes. Remove the egg yolk and mash it with fork. Don't give egg whites to babies under 12 months of age, it may cause allergic reaction.
For vegetarians, decorticated (skinless) split Moong beans make an ideal Dal for infants. The Dal should be over cooked and strained if necessary,
Common commercial baby foods for strained meats are: beef, liver, turkey, and chicken.
